The Scentsy Direct Selling Company provides Opportunity for Americans
Many companies have not fared well in the face of the current economic drought. The crisis has been discussed in depth, and the current administration has made promises of recovery. However, Americans are still losing jobs.
Every year, thousands of Americans turn to direct selling to help them make it through tough times or contribute to the family’s financial well being. But not all direct selling companies are created equal and many have not produced much growth in the past two years.
This is not the case with Scentsy, a Meridian, Idaho based company, specializing in authentic wickless candles and home fragrance, founded on the simple idea of offering a safer alternative to traditional candles.
Scentsy is based upon three main principles: Simplicity, Authenticity, and Generosity. These three ideals have helped thousands of American and Canadian Scentsy Consultants succeed in the direct selling business, and despite Scentsy’s rapid growth, young age, and the country’s economy, has driven the company to the top of the direct selling industry.
Last year, Scentsy was recognized for its accomplishment with the first-ever Rising Star Award of the Direct Selling Association. The award is now presented annually to one up-and-coming direct selling company that has dedicated itself to achieving a high standard of excellence in business operations.
In July 2010, Scentsy earned the number 64 spot on the Global 100 list of the top direct selling companies in the world with 2009 sales of $178.4 million, nearly three times the prior year’s sales.
The Global 100 is compiled annually by Direct Selling News (DSN), the official publication of the Direct Selling Association, and is recognized as one of the industry’s most comprehensive reports. The rankings are based on 2009 year-end wholesale revenue. Companies on the list range from annual sales of more than $10 billion for the No. 1 entry to around $67 million for the No. 100 entry.
Scentsy was recently honored with two other awards.
Earlier this year, Scentsy was awarded the DSN Bravo Award for having the highest annual growth rate over the past five years.
August 2010, found Scentsy in the press again, as the safe candle company was ranked 19th place on the Inc. 500 list of rapidly growing privately held companies. Scentsy was ranked in first place on the list for consumer products and services.
Americans out of work, are certainly not without opportunity. What began in 2004 in a 40-foot ocean container, on a small sheep farm, is now an international company. Scentsy has more than tripled year-over-year for five years in a row with nearly 70,000 Independent Consultants running a home based business in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada.
The simplicity and value of Scentsy flameless candle products provide a better alternative to burning wicked candles in the home and office. These facets make the products easy to sell and Scentsy takes pride in helping ordinary people capitalize on their success.
